About Us
The SW Devon Community Energy Partnership (SWD CEP) is a unique network bringing community groups and local authority representatives together to work towards a sustainable future for our energy. It is believed to be the first partnership of its kind in the UK dealing with energy issues through cooperation between local government and action groups. SWD CEP has commissioned a strategic energy study for the area; and has delivered a number of initiatives including energy champion training, energy assessments, events and impartial advice on energy efficiency, renewable energy and sustainable transport.
Aims
The Partnership aims to work collaboratively to reduce energy consumption in existing buildings (retrofit measures) and new developments and deploy renewable energy projects to make energy production more sustainable. Energy use in transport will also be addressed. The aims are to facilitate the implementation of appropriate sustainability measures by individual community groups as well as to inform local authority development plans.
